VERO BEACH — The Gifford Youth Activity Center has announced this year’s Dan K. Richardson’s Humanitarian Award honorees. Continuing the tradition of recognizing local individuals for their humanitarian efforts, the 2011 Dan K. Richardson’s Humanitarian Award will be given to Dr. A. Ronald Hudson, one of the founders of GYAC and Mr. Carter Hopkins, founder of the Gifford Youth Activity Center Foundation. The gentlemen will be feted with a banquet on Thursday, April 14. This year’s event will be held at The Richardson Center at the Indian River State College Mueller Campus in Vero Beach. The social hour will begin at 5:30 pm, followed by dinner, catered by Culinary Capers, which will be served at 6:30 pm. Entertainment will be provided by the Gifford Youth Orchestra String Quartet.
The banquet is the primary annual fundraiser for the Gifford Youth Activity Center. Funds help enable the Center to continue its numerous programs for at-risk youth, seniors, and the community.
Tickets to the banquet are $125 per person.
The Center welcomes local individuals and businesses to participate in the event with a variety of sponsorship opportunities.
