If you’ve picked up a photography magazine lately and looked at the ads, you’ve noticed we are being inundated with new gadgets for stabilizing your DSLR for shooting video.
I know they have their place, and if it helps you shoot a better video I can’t say anything negative about them. It just strikes me as overkill. Recently I purchased an DSLR that shoots video. I used it to cover the MLK Day Parade and volleyball in Sebastian, I only used a monopod.
It worked rather well, especially on the go. I would still use a tripod if it had to be on one subject for an extended period of time.
Here’s a link to a selection of what I’m talking about: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/buy/DSLR-Video-Rigs/N/4294544657
Maybe I’m just being stubborn – it wouldn’t be the first time.
Well, if you’re going to do it, go all out right?
