Cecile Elizabeth Albrecht died on Jan. 7, 2011.
She was born in NYC, New York on Nov. 17, 1931.
She was baptized in the Catholic faith and later graduated elementary school at St. Stanislaus in Maspeth, New York.
She received honors upon her graduation at William Cullen Bryant High School, Long Island, New York in June 1949.
On Sept. 8, 1951, Cecile was married at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church to Joseph Michael Morelli.
She is the only child and survivor of both her parents, Arthur and Elizabeth Albrecht who retired in Vero Beach and were long time parishioners of St. Helen’s Catholic Church.
In 1965, Cecile moved to Vero Beach with her three daughters, Judy Ann, Christine, and Laura.
While independently raising and supporting her young girls, she was employed as a fiscal accountant with Law’s Moving and Storage and took evening courses at Indian River Community College.
She followed in her parents’ spiritual footsteps, who had begun the first Rosary Club at St. Helen’s Catholic Church by becoming actively involved herself with the Helen’s Women’s Club.
In later years, Cecile earned a certification in nursing.
She retired as a private care nurse.
As a reflection of her many caring attributes, Cecile received an honorary diploma in June 1994, from St. Joseph’s Indian School for her significant contribution and support toward the spiritual, physical and personal growth of needy Lakota Indian children and families.
In 2001, she also received a plaque as honorary member of St. Jude Society from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in honor of her long-term charitable contributions to that organization.
Survivors include three daughters, Judy Ann Olson-Thomas, Christine Elizabeth Gary, and Laura Jean Biggles; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, all who know they have some “Big Shoes” to fill.
