Leander “Lea” Hewitt Minnerly, 74, of Vero Beach, died Dec. 26, 2010, at the Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.
Born in Jamaica, N.Y., he lived in Vero Beach for six years, coming from Wolfeboro, N.H.
Minnerly was a prominent architect in Pittsburgh, Pa., for 30 years.
He was a principal of The Design Alliance Architects.
In addition, he served on the Mt. Lebanon Planning Commission in Mt. Lebanon, Pa.
He was a founding member of the Cornell University Sherwoods, a men’s acapella triple-quartet.
Survivors include his wife of twenty-two years, Rosalie S. Minnerly, of Vero Beach; two sons, Lee Christian Minnerly and Mark Franklin Minnerly, both of Pittsburgh, Pa; two stepsons, Thomas N. Trumble, of Barrington, N.H. and Christopher A. Trumble, of Vero Beach; three sisters, Judith M. Koutsos, of New Port Richey, Laura M. Faustmann, of Long Island, N.Y., and Susan M. Byers, of Blounts Creek, N.C.; and three grandchildren.
Services and interment will be out of state at a later date.
