Anthony “PeeWee” Kenneth Reese, 20, of Vero Beach, died Monday Dec. 20, 2010, at Indian River Medical Center.

He was born on April 27, 1990, in Melbourne.

He has been a lifetime resident of Indian River County.

Survivors include his parents, Ronald and Stephanie Reese, of Vero Beach; brothers, Bobby Shelly, of Fort Pierce, Willie Shelly, of Vero Beach; grandparents, Robert Thomas, Sr., Delores Thomas, and Runell Thomas, all of Vero Beach.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary Reese, and Theoffice Canon.

Visitation will be held 4 to 6 p.m. Monday Dec. 27, at Stone Brothers Funeral Chapel.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday Dec. 28, at Stone Brothers Funeral Chapel, Vero Beach.

Burial will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach.

Arrangements are under the directions of Stone Brothers Funeral Chapel.

Family, friends, marines honor ‘protector, hometown hero’

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Frank Strahorn was already considered a hero by his family, friends and marine brothers and sisters because of his military service around the world. Then, on June 19, the 34-year-old became a "hometown hero" after he was fatally shot while helping others escape a gunman carrying an AK-47 assault rifle at a Sebastian pizzeria.
