James G. Brown, 61, of Vero Beach, died Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
Brown was born Nov. 15, 1949 in Milan, Tenn., and has been a resident of Vero Beach since 2009, coming from Haslett, Mich.
Brown was a member of the United States Power Squadron and volunteered at Indian River Medical Center.
Prior to retirement, he worked as a manager for a General Motors subcontractor.
He was a member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Martha.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Hamel; son, Nicholas Brown, of Port St. Lucie, FL; daughter, Jamie Brown, of Lansing, Mich.; brothers, John Brown, of Boulder, Colo., and Brad Brown, of Lansing, Mich; and five grandchildren
A visitation will be held on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010 from 4-7 p.m. at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Chapel.
A funeral mass will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 27, 2010 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Indian River Medical Center Auxiliary at 1000 36th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
