INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — WinterFest was not cancelled Saturday as VeroNews.com reported yesterday afternoon.
The annual event was held despite soggy conditions after a morning and afternoon of heavy rains and a tornado warning had been issued. VeroNews.com deeply regrets the error. After checking with a volunteer who had told us that event was cancelled, we went forward with posting an article about it being called off.
We are extremely sorry for posting what turned out to be false information. We will re-evaluate how and where we receive our information before making such posts in the future.
We understand that many people read our post and decided not to go out to Pointe West as a result and missed the fun. To those of you who did not go because of our reporting, We again apologize.
