DFL Donor and Volunteer Appreciation Event

VERO BEACH — The annual Dogs for Life (DFL) DFL Donor & Volunteer Appreciation Event, recognizing donors and volunteers who exhibit extraordinary services to the organization, will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 11 at the dog park memorial pavilion .   As a non-profit that relies on the donations and services of our Donors and Volunteers and we could not do the vitally important work for our community without your help.

This year the Assistance Dog Team Award will be presented to Jim Taylor & Pia Pia for their service to DFL.  As a veteran of the Afghanistan war, Jim volunteers his time to speak on behalf of the DFL Veteran Dog Program to many audiences. One engagement in particular, the Eagles Club of Florida resulted in a generous program grant.

The Media Award will be presented to Carl Miller of DHI Advertising and Marketing.  Carl has donated services since 2000 to DFL by designing logos and fundraising brochures.

The In-Kind Services Award will be presented to the Garden Club of Indian River County for their donation of Cypress trees to the dog park memorial garden.

The Pet Assisted Therapy Team Award will be presented to Barbara Bodnar & Maddux for their 9 years of service, brining love and comfort to people in our community.

New awards this year are the Individual Philanthropist Award, being presented to Janet Riley for her long-term commitment to DFL and Corporate Philanthropist to Jeff Gomez of Coast to Coast Landscaping for his years of donated services to the dog park property.

The community is invited to attend to help DFL show appreciation to award recipients and to enjoy a day at the dog park.
