Major Donald C. Huntley, Jr., 58, died Nov. 17, 2010, in Vero Beach at his home.
He was the son of Donald G. Huntley, Sr. and Macaria Lee Huntley. Survivors include his brothers Richard E. Huntley and David M. Huntley.
Father of Donald C. Huntley III, Mark Huntley and stepdaughter Sara Schmitt.
Donald grew up in the Overbrook section of Pittsburgh and graduated from Carrick High School in 1969.
He received an undergraduate degree from Alderson Broaddus College, a master’s degree in international relations from the University of Southern Mississippi and a master’s degree in public administration from the Oklahoma State University.
He enlisted in the Air Force in 1978 and retired after 20 years of service with the rank of Major after receiving numerous metals and citations.
Major Huntley previously served as an ROTC instructor at Johnstown Vo-tech High School in Johnstown, PA and most recently served as an ROTC instructor at Vero Beach High School.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to “Major Donald C. Huntley, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund.” Scholarships will be made available to graduation Air Force JROTC cadets.
