Edgar Vincent Buckle, 88, of Vero Beach, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010, at Indian River Medical Center.
He was born July 11, 1922, in Chicago, Ill., and moved to Vero Beach in 1992 from Miami. Buckle was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during World War II.
He graduated with a B.S. degree in business from DePaul University in 1952 and later became a certified public accountant.
He joined IBM in 1955 and worked in the New York area.
He was later transferred to Miami and from there lived and worked in Hong Kong and Singapore.
He traveled extensively throughout Asia in the course of his career.
Buckle retired from IBM as a Sales Representative in 1988 after 33 years of employment.
He was the treasurer of the Fox’s Tail Property Association in Timber Ridge, Vero Beach.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Nece; daughter, Priscilla Aitken, of Sea Cliff, N.Y.; sons, Kenneth Buckle, of Miami.; Thomas Buckle, of Danbury, Conn; step-daughters, Catherine Harper, of Vero Beach, Julie Clasby, of Dallas, Texas, Allison Highmark, of Paradise Valley, AZ; step-son, H. Russell Holland, II, of Sewalls Point; sister, Grace Richards, of Richmond, Va; 19 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Buckle was predeceased by his first wife in 1983, Marie Buckle; son, William Buckle and grandson Kenneth Buckle.
A celebration will be held 4-6 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 18, at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.
