VERO BEACH — Hibiscus Festival Call to Artist Chairman Sharon Morgan, and bag sponsor Marine Bank & Trust, have selected the winning art to grace the front of eco-friendly shopping bags being sold to promote and support the 2011 Hibiscus Festival. The Festival will be held on April 15 and 16 in historic downtown Vero Beach. The winning artist, Barbara Sharp, designed whimsical frogs and a multi-colored turtle frolicking among an array of beautiful hibiscus flowers. The art has been printed on eco-friendly shopping bags, available in royal blue, red, hunter green and black.
Other finalists in the Call to Artists included Dawn Mill, Lee G. Smith, Pam Sommers, Shawna Scarpitti and Carol Tromba. Some of these same artists will display their art at the Hibiscus Festival’s Juried Fine Art Show on April 16th.
The bags are available now for $5 each at Marine Banks on Beachland Blvd. and US1 in Vero Beach, and at Tropic Art and Frame on 14th Avenue, the Citrus Museum at the Heritage Center, the Main Street Vero Beach office and at the Christmas in Downtown at Downtown Friday event Friday, November 26.
The bags, and the Festival’s other inventory of t-shirts, posters and postcards will also be available at the Festival.
