Wilbur Max Williamson, 88, of Sebastian, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010, at Sebastian River Medical Center.
He was born June 2, 1922, in Chester, Pa., and was a resident of Sebastian since 1992, coming from Chincoteague, Va.
Williamson was in the Coast Guard in World War II and served for four years. He had a ship sunk under him in Iwo Jima.
He was a Chester High School graduate and worked for the Post Office in Prospect, Pa., for 34 years before retiring as a letter carrier.
He was a member of the New Life Baptist Church in Sebastian.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Ethel (Betty); eleven nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers Robert, John, Harwell and Herbert Williamson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at 1 p.m., at the New Life Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Brothers officiating.
