Edgar Vincent Buckle, 88, died Nov. 14, 2010, at Indian River Medical Center.
He was born in Chicago and lived in Vero Beach since 1992, coming from Miami. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II.
Before retirement, he worked for IBM for 33 years, where he became a sales representative in New York, Miami, Hong Kong and Singapore.
He was treasurer of the Fox’s Tail Property Association in Timber Ridge in Vero Beach.
He graduated with a bachelor of science degree in business from DePaul University in 1952 and became a certified public accountant.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Nece; daughter, Priscilla Aitken, of Sea Cliff, N.Y.; sons, Kenneth Buckle, of Miami and Thomas Buckle, of Danbury, Conn.; stepdaughters, Catherine Harper, of Vero Beach, Julie Clasby, of Dallas, and Allison Highmark, of Paradise Valley, Ariz.; step-son, H. Russell Holland II, of Sewall’s Point; sister, Grace Richards, of Richmond, Va.; 19 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his former wife in 1983, Marie Buckle; son, William Buckle; and grandson, Kenneth Buckle.
A celebration of his life will be conducted from 4 to 6 p.m. Nov. 18, 2010, at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach.
