Richard “Poppy” Ostrowski, 74, died Nov. 9, 2010, at VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach.
He was born in Bayonne, N.J., and had been a resident of Indian River County for 35 years, coming from Toms River, N.J. Before retirement, he worked as a machinist in the heavy equipment industry.
He was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Janet, of Sebastian; daughters, Helen, Janet, and Cindy; sons, Richie, John, Charlie and Frank; sister, Helen Clappsy; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank and John; and sisters, Marcie and Irene.

At the request of the family a service will be held at a later date.
