Jodine S. Duerr, 89, died Oct. 19, 2010, in Vero Beach.
She was born in Canton, Ohio, and lived in Vero Beach for 12 years, coming from her birthplace. She was a member of the Junior League of Canton, the Canton College Club, and the Museum Guild.
She helped found the Friends of the Stark County District Library, where she served as president of the board. She was honored with the 1986 Junior League President’s Award for her lifetime of volunteer service in Canton.
She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Canton and the Christ Church in Vero Beach. Duerr graduated from Lehman High School in Canton in 1937, Mount Union College with a bachelor’s degree in English, and Kent State University with a master’s in education.
Survivors include her son, J. Stephen Duerr, of Cary, N.C.; daughters, Julia Duerr Palm, of Cushing, Maine, and Elizabeth Jo McDivitt, of Ravenna, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, who died in May 2008.

A graveside service will be in Canton.
