William “Willie” H. Thomas, 83, of Wabasso, died Wednesday Sept. 29, 2010 at Hospice of The Palm Beach County.
He was born on June 8, 1927 in Georgia. He has been a resident of Saint Lucie County for fifteen years and Indian River County since 1962 coming from Fort Pierce.
He was a retired mechanic.
Survivors include his sons, Gregory Thomas, of Hollywood; Harold Thomas, of Jacksonville; stepson, Leslie (Gwendolyn) Walker, of Baltimore, Md.; daughter, Diane Pepper Walker-Danzey, of Port Saint Lucie; stepdaughters, Ann Walcott, Julia (Sam) Andrews, Ernestine Walker, Rebecca Walker, all of Ft. Pierce; wife, Catherine Thomas, of Ft. Pierce; 24 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Walker, stepsons, Richard Walker, Lawrence Walker, parents and other siblings.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. and a funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010 at Greater New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Stone Brothers Funeral Home.
