David Rohrer Herr, M.D., of Vero Beach, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at Willow Brooke Court, Indian River Estates.
Dr. Herr was born in Lancaster, Pa., and moved to Vero Beach in 1995 from Ft. Worth, Texas. He was a graduate of Eastern Mennonite College in Harrisonburg, Va., and Jefferson College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa.
He was a plastic surgeon in Ft. Worth prior to his retirement. Dr. Herr was a volunteer for Meals On Wheels, Friends of the Library, and the Indian River County Volunteer Ambulance Squad in Vero Beach.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Connie Herr; daughter Sarah H. Hollenbeck, of Houston, Texas; sister, Rebecca R. Herr, of Lititz, Pa.; brothers, John R. Herr, of New Providence, Pa., and Clyde R. Herr, of Jenkinstown, Pa.; and two grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son Captain David Rohrer Herr, Jr.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 11, at the First Presbyterian Church in Vero Beach with Dr. G. Timothy Womack officiating.
Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Ft. Worth, Texas.
