SEBASTIAN – A tornado warning has expired for the northeast corner of Indian River County, including Roseland and the Sebastian Inlet.
The warning was in effect until 9 p.m. Tuesday.
At 8:11 p.m., the National Weather Service doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado approaching Sebastian Inlet moving northwest at 20 mph.
What to do if you are under a Tornado Warning:
Residents in mobile homes or vehicles should evacuate them and get inside a sturdy shelter.
If no shelter is available, lie flat in the nearest ditch or other low spot and cover your head with your hands.
The safest place to be during a tornado is in a strong building on the lowest floor in an interior room such as a bathroom or closet.
Keep away from windows.
Get under a workbench or other piece of sturdy furniture.
Use blankets or pillows to cover your body.
