VERO BEACH — The intersection of Indian River Boulevard and 37th Street has reopened following a head-on collision that sent one vehicle into the brush on the side of the road.
According to officials, the road reopened at about 4:20 p.m. after a crash occurred there around 4 p.m.
Three people were injured in the crash, according to Assistant Fire Chief Brian Burkeen. Two of them were transported to a local hospital while the third was airlifted to a regional trauma center.
They have not been identified.
Burkeen said the vehicles involved included a truck pulling a trailer, which ended up in the trees near the road, and a small compact car.
