Howard E. Manco, 72, died Aug. 24, 2010, at VNA Hospice in Vero Beach.
He was born in Derby, Conn., and lived in Vero Beach. Before retirement, he was the principal of Lincoln School and Derby Middle School, director of special education, a licensed real estate salesman and licensed real estate appraiser. He was of the Roman Catholic faith.
He was a master of ceremonies for the CWV annual Communion breakfast in Derby, Conn. He was a lifetime member and past president of Highland Golf Club in Shelton, Conn. He received an associate’s degree from Quinnipiac College, a bachelor’s degree in education from Southern Connecticut State University and a master’s degree in education from Fairfield University.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Rita Vitelli Manco; daughter, Susan M. Strunk, of Blooming Prairie, Minn.; son, Thomas M. Manc,o of Ivoryton, Conn.; sister, Patricia Tindall, of Carbondale, Ill.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Irene McAllister.
