US Navy Armed Guard, Merchant Marines to meet Saturday

FELLSMERE – US Navy Armed Guard & Merchant Marine Veterans who served in World War II will meet Sept. 18 at 9 a.m. at Marsh landing Restaurant 44 North Broadway, Fellsmere.

The speaker will be Commander Randy Laws USN (Ret.) Senior Naval Science Instructor, of Navy JROTC Program at Sebastian River High School.

He will bring the Color Guard with him.

Commander Laws will talk about his transfer from the US Marines Corps to the US Navy. He has 4,700 hours of flight time.  He will bring members up to date with the status of his goals for the Sebastian River High School Navy JROTC unit.

There will be a short memorial for Tom Vitale and Walt Steinsiek, who both passed away in June.
