VERO BEACH – An area contractor will be allowed to provide fuel at the Vero Beach Municipal Marina, the Vero Beach City Council decided.
Port Consolidated, Inc., with locations in Ft. Pierce and West Palm Beach, has been given the green light to fuel up the marina. The firm beat out Palmdale Oil, Glover Oil, Petroleum SSI, Watkins Oil, PKA Petroleum, Mansfield Oil, and BV Oil.
Port Consolidated will supply unleaded gasoline and diesel fuel to the marina.
The company was one of 162 vendors notified that the marina was sending out bids for fuel. Only eight firms sent bid packages to the city.
“Port Consolidated offered the best transport pricing, completed all provided forms including addendums, and is local business certified,” wrote Marina Director Tim Grabenbauer in a memo to City Manager Jim Gabbard. “We have worked with them in the past and are familiar with their operation.”
