Pamelia Dolaway, 68, Vero Beach

Pamelia Dolaway, 68, of Vero Beach, died Sept. 3, 2010, at her home.

Dolaway was born Sept. 30, 1941, in Towanda, Pa., and moved to Vero Beach four months ago from Barefoot Bay where she had resided since 2004.

She was a store manager with Cumberland Farms.

Survivors include her sons David Dolaway (Joan), of Vero Beach, Douglas Dolaway (Jennifer), of Barefoot Bay, Danny Dolaway (Cynthia), of Palm Bay, Fla and Donny Dolaway (Noreen), of Elmira, N.Y.; step children Ruth Mason (Tony), of Paducah, Ky., and Tom Dolaway (Jean), of Erin, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family is planning a private memorial.

VERO BEACH — While chilly temperatures caused a drop in beach attendance last month, lifeguards are happy to report that there were no water rescues that occurred in January. ‘Tragic, sudden loss,’ – Memorials emerge for teen killed in ATV crash

With the sudden death of Sebastian River High School student Jake Beecher still fresh, family, friends, teammates and coaches continue to come to terms with the tragic crash that took his life. Man shot after charging at deputy with small sword

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A 29-year-old man who was shot by a deputy after charging at the officer with a small sword, was hospitalized late Friday, officials said. The unidentified man was taken by ambulance to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce, Indian River County sheriff's spokesman Maj. Eric Flowers said. The deputy who fired the shot was not injured. The deputy was placed on paid administrative leave, which is protocol for police-involved shootings.
