VERO BEACH – The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County (HSVB&IRC) will be offering FREE pet identification tags to Indian River County residents this Monday (Labor Day), September 6, from 9:00 a.m. -10:30 a.m. at the Big Lots located at 4425 20th Street (Route 60) in Vero Beach.
Pet parents will be asked to describe their animals and provide multiple contact phone numbers. Contact information for their veterinarian, friends or relatives is helpful in the event that an animal’s primary caretaker is unreachable. Pet parents may request as many tags as needed but do not need to bring their animals in order for the tags to be issued.
HSVB & IRC offers the ID tags as a public service. Each tag is pre-engraved with a unique ID number issued to that particular animal, the Humane Society’s paging service phone number and says “I AM LOST.” Humane Society employees are on-call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to respond to calls for lost or found animals.
