VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach Elks Lodge # 1774 is starting their Saint Patrick’s Day festivities early with a Half-Way to Saint Patrick’s Day Dinner Dance on Friday, September 17. The party is a kick-off event in anticipation of their second annual Indian River County Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, scheduled for Saturday, March 19.
The Half-Way Festivities begin at the Elk’s Lodge with cocktails at 5:30 p.m., followed by a dinner, featuring corned beef and cabbage with new potatoes, carrots, dessert and coffee. Entertainment will feature music by the Kindred Spirits Celtic Band.
Proceeds will be used to sustain the many Elks charities and will also help defray the costs of hosting the second Indian River County Saint Patrick’s Day Parade in downtown Vero Beach. The first parade was considered a success, and the Committee would like to have an even bigger and better parade for 2011.
Organizations, civic groups, schools, clubs, bands, businesses or anyone else interested in participating in next year’s parade are invited to contact the Elks.
Write to Indian River County Saint Patrick’s Day Parade Committee, PO Box 631156, Vero Beach, FL 32965 or visit www.verobeachelks.com/parade.
It’s never too early to start getting ready for the premier Irish event of downtown Vero Beach.
