The Grand Harbor Golf & Beach Club is partnering with the PGA of America and the United States Golf Association for Patriot Golf Day on Saturday, September 4, in hopes of raising significant funds for the Folds of Honor Foundation. The tournament, which will be held on the club’s beautiful Pete Dye designed Harbor Course, is open to the public as well club members.
Registration begins at 8:00 am at the Grand Harbor Club with a shot gun start at 9:00 am. Opening festivities include a Marine Color Guard, the Nation Anthem sung by uniformed personnel, displays of military vehicles and honorary tournament host US Congressman Bill Posey. Tournament registration is $125 per player, which also includes continental breakfast and barbeque lunch, complimentary on course refreshments, and awards following play.
Patriot Golf Day benefits the Folds of Honor Foundation which povides post-secondary educational scholarships for children and spouses of military service men and women killed or disabled while serving our Great Nation. Patriot Golf Day was the vision of Major Dan Rooney, an F-16 fighter pilot, PGA Professional, USGA Member and real-life hero. To date, more than 1,300 scholarships have been awarded by the Folds of Honor Foundation.
