Colorado sex offender arrested for not reporting new Vero Beach home

VERO BEACH — A registered sex offender from Colorado was arrested at his Vero Beach home after he failed to notify authorities of his move.

According to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office, Robert Keith Kendall, , had been staying at a home on the 1200 block of 24th Street, for five days before finding him. Kendall face three counts on similar charges of failing to notify various agencies of his change of address as required for sexual offenders.

Upon his arrest, Kendall told the Sheriff’s Office that he had notified authorities in Delta County, Colorado, that he was moving to Vero Beach to be with his girlfriend.

Authorities in Delta County, though, told the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office they had no record of Kendall making such contact.

Kendall also said that he had come back to Indian River County to take care of an outstanding warrant and that he had held off on reporting himself until he had enough money to cover his bond on the warrant.

For that, he had found a temporary job and was working to earn the necessary money.

He was taken into custody and has since been released from the county jail on $3,000 bond.
