Thomas F. Geoly, 88, of Vero Beach, died Friday, Aug. 20, 2010 at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
Geoly was born July 24, 1922, in Brooklyn, N.Y. and moved to Vero Beach 22 years ago from Central New York State. During World War II, he served as an Army Air Corps Reconnaissance Photographer. He was a professional photographer and owned Geoly Studios in New York City and, as a harness horse breeder, he also owned Trot ‘n Pace Acres. He served on the Washingtonville, N.Y. School Board, 1965 – 1970.
Geoly served as president of the East Meadow Little League, 1955-1968, and was a member of the U.S. Trotting Association, 1963 – 1976. He was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout volunteer, a soup kitchen volunteer at Our Father’s Table in Gifford, and helped to restore the West Burlington, N.Y. Memorial Church.
Survivors include his longtime partner and companion Gail Owens, of Vero Beach; two daughters Robin-Lynn Geoly McClean, of Eatontown, N.J. and Victoria Geoly Gallo, of Miami; a sister Constance Geoly Donley, of Garden City, N.J.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two sons, Frank (Skippy) Geoly and Drew Stephen Geoly; two brothers Andrew and Peter Geoly; and three sisters, Marion, Frances and Angelina.
