FELLSMERE – The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County will be sponsoring a dog vaccination clinic on Sunday, Aug. 29 from 1 – 4 p.m. at the Fellsmere Community Center located at 56 North Broadway.
The clinic is open to Indian River County residents facing financial hardship and will provide rabies and parvovirus vaccinations to healthy dogs.
HSVB & IRC is making this service available to those families who would not normally be able to afford annual vaccinations for their pets. The clinic is being held in response to outbreaks of rabies and parvovirus across the Treasure Coast.
Rabies is a virus that is deadly to both animals and people and parvovirus can be fatal to dogs and is highly contagious.
The clinic is made possible thanks to contributions from Humane Society donors. In addition, Humane Society staff as well as local veterinarians Laura Baldwin, Elizabeth Bybee and Lyndall Soule are donating their time and skills.
The cost is $10 per dog. Dogs must be brought to the community center wearing a leash and collar and pet owners must show current proof of Indian River County residency.
Copies of each dog’s previous veterinary records are helpful. For more information call (772) 388-3331 ext. 31.
