Dorothy Mae Kelly died on Aug. 21, 2010 surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
She was born in Chicago, Ill., and lived in Fort Lauderdale for 20 years and then Delray Beach for 30 years before moving to Vero Beach. She was the center of the universe for all who knew and loved her and will be sorely missed, and now we are certain that she is doing the same with loved ones in heaven.
She attended DePaul University where she obtained her Associates Degree.
She was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian; a member of the Screen Actors Guild and President of Mercy High School Alumnae Association.
She was a hospital auxiliary volunteer (Pink Lady); USO volunteer; special organizer on various high school activities at Central Catholic High School.
Survivors include her sons, Robert (Linda) Kelly, of Sebastian, Richard (Sandi) Kelly, of Palm City, Michael (Diane) Kelly, of Boca Raton; daughters, Judy Brownfield, of Irvine, Calif., Mariclare (Paul) Kelly LoBue, of Micco, Fla., Patricia (Wilson) Greene, of Edenton, N.C.; brother, Fred (Joan) Gardner, of Plainfield, Ill; sister-in-law, Jane Gardner, of Boynton Beach; 14 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence T. Kelly and brothers, Herb & Frank Gardner.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Aug. 23, 2010 at Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian with a prayer service being held at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Aug. 24, 2010 at Saint Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian with Father John Morrissey, celebrant. Interment will be at Boynton Beach Memorial Park Cemetery, Boynton Beach, Fla.
