Look for Random Acts of Music around town

VERO BEACH — Members of the Vero Beach High School Symphony Orchestra will be performing Random Acts of Music throughout the county in an attempt to raise money to compete in the final round of the 2011 National Orchestra Festival.  Considered the most prestigious student orchestra competition in the nation, the festival will be held in March in Kansas City, Mo. Random Acts of Music will run through the fall, with Vero Beach High Symphony Orchestra students performing as soloists or in small ensembles for donations at various locations throughout Indian River County.

Look for orchestra students to randomly arrive at and play at the following locations:

U.S. Post Offices – both the downtown and beachside locations;

Melody Music, 466 21st Street, Miracle Mile Plaza;

The Eye Clinic of Vero, 632 21st Street;

Casey’s Place, 917 Azalea Lane;

Busy Bee Nursery, 7445 North US 1;

The September 18 Humane Society Animal Shelter, “No Flea Market.”

At the new Indoor Green Market at the Indian River Mall, the second and fourth Saturday of the month, the following students will perform:

August 28:  Jeffrey and Gwendi Lamothe 1 to 2 pm, and Kaitlyn Fultz 3 pm

September 11: Jeffrey and Gwendi Lamothe 1 to 2 pm, and Kaitlyn Fultz 3 pm

September 25:  Jeffrey Lamothe and Gwendi Lamothe 1 to 3 pm

October 9: Jeffrey and Gwendi Lamothe 1 to 3 pm, and Kaitlyn Fultz 3 pm

October 23: Jeffrey and Gwendi Lamothe 1 to 3 pm

More locations will be coming on board later in the fall including Waves Car Wash, which will be holding a special event for students that will run all day.
