An award-winning principal while at the helm of Lincoln Park Academy, Anderson has twice been recognized as a St. Lucie County Principal of the Year and was selected from all of the principals state-wide to be named the winner of the State of Florida’s Assistant Principal of the Year in 2003. Anderson holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Miami in Elementary Education and a Master of Education from the University of Miami, has studied Guidance & Counseling at Florida Atlantic University and is certified in Educational Administration..  She is a member of the Florida Association for School Administrators, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and Delta Kappa Gamma National Honorary Society for Educators. She and her husband have been local residents for more than 34 years and currently reside in Fort Pierce. “Peggy Anderson is a consummate educational leader in our community,” said Saint Edward’s Head of School, Mike Mersky. “She returns to Saint Edward’s after having been an interim Head of the Upper School here, and as important, she is the parent of two fine graduates of our School.  Peggy is incredibly well respected in the larger community for her leadership in public schools, and she now wants to devote all of her professional energies to directing our admission and enrollment programs for the future.  We are most fortunate to have someone with Peggy’s skills and acumen on our Leadership Team, and she already has enhanced our program after little over one month.  We are thrilled to have her on board our ship!!” Anderson is particularly knowledgeable about Martin and St. Lucie County and brings a definite south Treasure Coast flair to the admissions effort at Saint Edward’s.  The School draws students from a broad geographic area including Brevard, Indian River, Martin and St. Lucie counties and bus transportation is available to all of these areas.  “It is my goal to spread the word about the culture of excellence at Saint Edward’s School,” Anderson said as she embarked upon her new role. “The learning opportunity, character and leadership development that takes place at Saint Edward’s is a life altering experience for students. I am thrilled to be part of the Saint Edward’s family!” Saint Edward’s School, known for its small class sizes, superlative faculty, and high academic standards, begins a signature year with the opening of school August 25, 2010. Educating approximately 530 students on one campus is an important component of Saint Edward’s strategic plan and heralds the rapid-fire forward progress the School is experiencing.
