Kenneth H. Larson, 87, of Vero Beach died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010 at VNA Hospice House.
He was born October 29, 1922 in New Castle, Pa., and had been a resident of Vero Beach for 25 years, coming from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Larson was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, having served as a pilot and pilot instructor during World War II. After his time in the service, he continued flying his private Cessna aircraft for 65 years. He was of Christian Faith, a member of Treasure Coast Jazz, United Flying Octogenarians (UFO), former President of Spinnaker Point Association and volunteered with the Indian River County Humane Society.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Evlyn “Edgie” Larson, of Vero Beach; daughters, Kathy MacRae, of Webster, N.H., and Toddy Brown, of Greensboro, N.C.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held from 1-3 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010 in the C.J. Cannons Conference Room. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice of Indian River County, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960, in memory of Kenneth H. Larson. Arrangements are under the direction of Thomas S.
