Harry Hamilton Mayne, 86, of Vero Beach, died Saturday, July 31, 2010 at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach surrounded by his family.
Mayne was born May 24, 1924, in Lockport, N.Y., and moved to Vero Beach 22 years ago from Simsbury, Conn. He had a Mechanical Engineering degree from Purdue University and a Masters of Business degree from Michigan State University. During World War II, Mayne served with the U.S. Army in the Philippines and Japan.
He was a Mechanical Engineer with Jacobs Manufacturing in Bloomfield, Conn. He held several patents for innovative mechanical engineering designs. Mayne was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Vero Beach, TKE Fraternity and The Vero Beach Country Club.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Susan Campbell Mayne; son, Christopher (Donna Baase), of Boulder, Colo.; daughter, Sarah (Kurt) Stadele, of Alpharetta, Ga.; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Sept. 4, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Vero Beach.
