Modesta M. “Dusty” Spires, 76, of Vero Beach, died Monday, Aug. 2, 2010 at Indian River Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was born Dec. 13, 1933, in Winnipeg, Ohio, and had been a resident of Vero Beach since 1966, coming from Wauseon, Ohio. Spires was a member of Living Water Ministries, Vero Beach, and worked for Indian River County Clerk of Courts for over 20 years as a data processor.
Survivors include her daughters, Cheryl Primeau and Lisa Shaffer, of Vero Beach; son, Mike Hurst, of Vero Beach; sister, Ruth Shipley, of Sebastian; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, John “Pop” Spires in 2004 and brother, Everett Eugene Neville.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Thursday Aug. 5, at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home on Friday, Aug. 6.
