Emerson Center Florida Humanities Series

VERO BEACH — The Emerson Center at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship presents the Emerson Center Humanities Series; all presentations are at 7 p.m.  Six interesting programs are presented in partnership with the Florida Humanities Council, with Florida topics presented in speech, video, and play formats.  Free Admission.  No Tickets Required.

Fredric M. Hitt – Bring ’em Back Alive: An Up-close Look at the First Floridians.  Author Fredric M. Hitt shares the same love of the St. Johns River as the earlier inhabitants from over three hundred years ago.  Hitt was twice presented the Patrick Smith Award for best fiction.

Shawn Bean – The First Hollywood-Movie Making in Jacksonville.  Shawn Bean will discuss his literary debut, “The First Hollywood,” which won the 2008 Florida Book Award.
