VERO BEACH — Due to rain and wind from Tropical Storm Bonnie the concert originally scheduled for Friday, July 23rd, has been rescheduled to August 8.
The Cultural Council of Indian River County is proud to present “Summerfest: The Sounds and Flavors of Mont Blanc” on Sunday, August 8. Heritage Park at Pointe West is the beautiful venue for the evening’s free 90 minute concert, beginning at 7:30 p.m. and performed by the Mont Blanc Chamber Orchestra.
Arrive at 6:30 p.m. for food and drink purchases. The Cultural Council plans to present an array of exciting pallet pleasers as a fundraiser for the non profit organization. For an optional $15, attendees will enjoy a flight of three food and wine tastings representing foods from France, Italy and Switzerland, plus a raffle ticket to win a wide array of prizes from local businesses including the grand prize from Treasure Coast Travel Agency. Additional beer, wine, soda, and food will be available to purchase.
Please bring your own lawn chairs and blankets for this concert under the stars. Pets and coolers with food and drink are not permitted. While the concert is complimentary, donations will be accepted. Enter the event through the main entrance into Pointe West off of SR60 just minutes west of the IR Mall and follow the EVENT signs to the free parking area adjacent to Heritage Park.
Each summer, Broward County’s Symphony of the Americas, with funding from the State of Florida’s International Cultural Exchange, join together to present “Summerfest” by selecting a renowned European chamber orchestra to tour throughout Florida, Central and South America. This summer, the 20-piece Mont Blanc Chamber Orchestra, formed in October, 1998 and featuring professional musicians from France, Italy and Switzerland, has been chosen to perform their vast repertoire of music ranging from the Baroque era to the 20th Century. “Summerfest” is in its 19th year and is the longest music festival in Florida.
