Edwin Healy, 54, Vero Beach

Edwin Healy, 54, of Vero Beach/Fort Pierce died July 22, 2010.

Healy served in the National Guard. Healy attended St. Anastasia High School in Fort Pierce and after graduation he attended Indian River Community College. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Carole Healy; sons, Edwin (Maria) Healy II , of Immokalee, and Stephen (Marina) Healy, of Vero Beach; mother-in-law, Annie Marie Smith; granddaughter, Perla Healy; and grandsons, E. J. Healy, Raymond Healy and Breck Healy.

Healy was preceded in death by his sister, Pam Drawdy, and parents, Edwin and Lillian Healy.

At Ed’s request, a private service will be held.

VERO BEACH — While chilly temperatures caused a drop in beach attendance last month, lifeguards are happy to report that there were no water rescues that occurred in January. ‘No swimming’ advisory lifted for beaches, officials say

VERO BEACH — Authorities lifted a 'no swimming' advisory for three local beaches Tuesday after test samples showed that bacteria returned to normal levels, health department and city officials said. The result means it was safe to return to the water Tuesday, Vero Beach city officials said. The advisory - which was in place for nearly a week - was issued Jan. 31 for South Beach, Humiston Beach and Sexton Plaza Beach after high levels of fecal-related bacteria were reported at the locations.
