Police looking for two suspects in daring daytime armed robbery

VERO BEACH –The Vero Beach Police Department is looking for two white, male suspects between the ages of 25-35 who participated in a brash armed robbery of Wilson’s Fine Jewelry Store.

Owner Lou Wilson, 69, was hit with a Taser about 1 p.m. on Saturday, which was then cycled through two more times. The thieves ransacked his back office safe and came away with as much as $100,000 in gems and jewelry. Wilson said all the items taken belonged to him and that none were the property of his customers.

Vero Beach Police spokesman John Morrison said the investigation was ongoing and would not speculate if the suspects were locals or out-of-towners.

The first suspect has been identified as a white male between 25-35 years of age, between 5-foot-10 and 6-2, an average build with dark brown hair and possibly with a goatee.  At the time of the robbery he was wearing a straw hat, dark colored button down shirt, light colored shorts and light colored sneakers.

The other suspect is listed as a white male between 25-35 years of age, between 5-8 and 6-foot, a stocky build, blonde with a scruffy beard. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a dark-colored Hurley baseball cap, a Hawaiian palm tree button down shirt, tan cargo shorts and dark-colored Converse sneakers.

The suspects fled in an older model gray Dodge Neon.
