The Rev. Thomas Martin Otto, 72, died July 5, 2010. He spent some time serving at St. Sebastian in Sebastian.
He was born in Orange, N.J. and attended Seton Hall University in South Orange, N.J., and St. Francis in Loretto, Pa.
He was ordained at St. Mary’s Cathedral in 1973 for the Diocese of Trenton, N.J.
He went to the Diocese of Palm Beach in 1989, serving at St. Joan of Arc, Boca Raton, St. Mark, Fort Pierce and St. Sebastian, Sebastian.
He started at Holy Family Catholic Church, Port St. Lucie, in 1996, serving there until 2000. He retired in 2003 from St. Paul of the Cross in North Palm Beach.
He assisted at the parishes of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Aztec and Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Flora Vista.
Survivors include his adopted son, Scott O’Connor of Bradenton; sister, Mary Lou Dennis of Port Charlotte; and two grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. July 15 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Aztec. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. July 16 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Aztec Cemetery.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. July 21 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Port St. Lucie, with Bishop Gerald M. Barbarito officiating.
