VERO BEACH – Parents still hunting for camps to enroll their children in over the summer could find a remaining spot in one of four summer camps at the Vero Beach Leisure Square Fitness Center.
All camps at the center run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and are designed for children ages 7 to 13. They range in length from one week to several. Space is available in the Aerial Antics Summer Camp, the Sports/Aquatics Summer Camp, the Pool Days Not School Days Summer Mini-Camp, and the Summer Mini Cheer Camp, according to city recreation staff.
Children participating in the 8-week Aerial Antics Camp will train for the annual circus performance at the end of the summer. The camp, which has already started, runs through Aug. 6.
This year’s event will be “A Very Vegas Circus” and will be held Aug. 4 through 7 at Oslo Middle School.
Children enrolled in the camp will be instructed in gymnastics, tumbling, circus aerial, and dance. Campers will also participated in other activities, including bowling, swimming, movies, arts and crafts, games, and skating. They will also go on an out-of county trip. Lunch is included.
The cost to enroll per week is $90 for city residents and $105 for non-residents.
The Sports /Aquatics camp runs for eight weeks, through Aug. 6, and offers children the opportunity to learn fundamental skills in a variety of sports including football, basketball, and soccer.
Weekly trips and activities include bowling, miniature golf and swimming. They will also participated in Field Day events and an out-of county trip. Lunch is included.
The cost per week is $90 for city residents and $105 for non-residents.
Pool Days Not School Days Mini Camp includes swimming, basketball, volleyball and movies.
The one-week camp runs from Aug. 9 through 13 and is limited to 100 children.
Participants must bring a bag lunch, a swimsuit, and a towel each day.
The cost for the camp is $70 for city residents and $85 for non-residents.
The Mini Cheer Camp is a week filled with learning cheers, chants, jumps, stunts, dances, tumbling and so much more.
Participants will be preparing for an exhibition at the end of the week.
The camp runs from Aug. 9 through 13 and is limited to 50 children.
Campers must bring a bag lunch, a swimsuit and towel every day and wear sneakers. They will receive a free T-shirt.
The one-week camp’s cost is $80 for city residents and $95 for non-residents.
