Walter T. Labore, 94, Vero Beach

Walter T. Labore, 94, died June 23, 2010, at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach. He was born in Manchester, N.H., and lived in Vero Beach for 10 years, coming from Stamford, Conn.

Before retiring, he was manager of special projects at Pitney Bowes of Stamford and Norwalk, Conn., and was responsible for many patented inventions.

Survivors include his daughters, Joan Sandow of Pisgah Forest, N.C., and Vero Beach, Diane Labore of Meriden, Conn., and Carol Labore of New Haven, Conn.; sisters, Doris Harrington of Manchester and Florette Doepker of Cincinnati; longtime companion, Patricia Anwyl of Vero Beach; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Labore; son, Walter T. Labore Jr.; and brother, Gerald Labore of Manchester.

A memorial service will be in Vero Beach at a later date.
