VERO BEACH — The Homeless Family Center today announced the appointment of D. Lorne Coyle as its new executive director effective August 1, 2010. The Center, located at 720 4th St. in Vero Beach was honored in 2009 with the Agency Excellence Award by the United Way of Indian River County.
In making the announcement, Board Chair Thomas Tierney said, “The Homeless Family Center believes that Lorne Coyle’s skill and experience are a perfect fit for our future.”
In accepting the appointment Coyle said, “I am honored and excited to be chosen to move the needs of homeless families to the forefront of response in our community. These families are ones whose lives can be transformed by the generosity of others. I look forward to serving our homeless families.”
Coyle served as rector of Trinity Episcopal Church in Vero Beach and as rector of Christ Church Vero Beach. He and his wife, Jane, have lived in Vero Beach since 1992. She is a psychotherapist in private practice specializing in anxiety.
Serving the four counties of Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin, and Okeechobee, the Homeless Family Center provides the tools to empower residents by helping them to identify and resolve their problems, find better jobs, and ultimately move into homes where they can become contributing members of our community.
