Edwin George Auerswald, 90, Vero Beach

Edwin George Auerswald, 90, died June 4, 2010, at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.

He was born in Philadelphia and lived in Vero Beach, coming from Ocean City, N.J. Before retirement, he worked for American Meter Co. as a master tool and dye maker, having his own shop.

He served with the Army Corps of Engineers during World War II.

He was a longtime member of Alpha Baptist Church in Philadelphia, singing in the choir. He sang in the Ocean City Men’s Chorus, the Vero Beach Choral Society, and in the choirs of Hatboro Baptist Church and Community Church of Vero Beach.

He was a lifetime member of the Stephen Girard Masonic Lodge No. 450 in Pennsylvania.

Survivors include his wife of three years, Ann; son, Dean; sister, Elizabeth Cloud; brother, Richard; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Betty Belle.
