Scott C. Repoff, 40, Vero Beach

Scott C. Repoff, 40, died May 18, 2010, at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.

He was born in Erie, Pa., and lived in Florida since 1986, coming from Massachusetts. He worked as a superintendent for RCL Development in Vero Beach.

Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Wendy of Vero Beach; daughter, Samantha Repoff of Vero Beach; mother, Kathleen Anderson of Micco; father, Pete Repoff of Erie; sister, Meghan Repoff of Jacksonville; and brother, Brian Repoff of Micco.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kanzius RF Laboratory at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, c/o Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation, 1001 State St., Erie, PA, 16501.

A celebration of life will be from 1 to 5 p.m. May 22 at his home.

VERO BEACH — While chilly temperatures caused a drop in beach attendance last month, lifeguards are happy to report that there were no water rescues that occurred in January. ‘Tragic, sudden loss,’ – Memorials emerge for teen killed in ATV crash

With the sudden death of Sebastian River High School student Jake Beecher still fresh, family, friends, teammates and coaches continue to come to terms with the tragic crash that took his life. Man shot after charging at deputy with small sword

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A 29-year-old man who was shot by a deputy after charging at the officer with a small sword, was hospitalized late Friday, officials said. The unidentified man was taken by ambulance to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce, Indian River County sheriff's spokesman Maj. Eric Flowers said. The deputy who fired the shot was not injured. The deputy was placed on paid administrative leave, which is protocol for police-involved shootings.
