John A. Neal, 88, died May 19, 2010, at his home.
He was a winter resident of Vero Beach for more than 20 years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Signal Corps in the China-Burma-India Theater.
Before retirement, he was a supervisor with the former New England Telephone Co. for 42 years. He was a member of the Association of Bell Tel Retirees Inc. and president of the Framingham Council of Telephone Pioneers. For 15 years, he served on the board of the Northern Massachusetts Telephone Workers Credit Union.
He was a communicant of St. Helen Catholic Church and was a member of Dodger Pines Country Club, both in Vero Beach.
He attended the Milford, Mass., public schools, graduated from Milford High School in 1939 and from Bentley School of Accounting in 1941.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Jean F. Neal; daughters, Mary M. Stott and Patricia J. Cuff; and four grandchildren.
