VERO BEACH — The play “Driving Miss Daisy” held on two evenings this past February was a joint fundraiser for Haiti Partners and the Vero Beach Theatre Guild, and raised $7,060 for each organization.
The play was directed by Don Daniels and featured performers Pat Kroger, Jim Daly and Gary Sayles. Each evening also included a cocktail reception and champagne reception, both accompanied by talented classical guitarist Richard Long.
Haiti Partners announced that it had started rebuilding its first new school with rooms to teach 125 students in the morning and an additional 125 students in the afternoon. The school has received donated laptops and generators and will have solar internet service. The facility will also be used as a shelter at night for parents and children.
