HAVE CAMERA: Time flies when you’re having fun

Who knew I would be so busy working at a 24/7 news organization. Oh wait, what part of that sounds like I would be spending my time at the beach?

We kid that the only time we get to the beach is when there’s a disaster. Usually there’s a rank smell or high wind that ruins the fun.

It’s been over two months. I’m planning (as God laughs) to blog more but as an editor once told me, you can’t plan in this business because the news doesn’t keep a schedule.

Recently I had two people come to my door from a church up the road from me. I had to frown, and tell them I wish I could keep a schedule where I could go to events (that I wasn’t covering).

I can’t even make it to the county camera club meetings anymore. I try, but something always comes up.

I wrote about having “ha ha days off.” Recently they’ve turned into “breaking news” days off.

For a stretch, four of my five days off consisted of two bank robberies (back to back) a plane crash, and a brush fire. But that is the life and I’d rather be shooting than doing dishes and laundry.

So, here’s to making a schedule and trying to stick to it.
