Doris B. Leverance, 77, of Vero Beach died Sunday, May 16.
She was born Nov. 13, 1932 in Ponce, Puerto Rico and married Albert E. Leverance on Sept. 5, 1953 in Trenton, N.J.
She worked for many years in the field of nursing, retiring in 2004, and most recently was employed by Green Thumb at Orange Blossom Village in Vero Beach.
Survivors include three sons, Edward, Lawrence (Pre), Gregory (Suzanne) and one daughter Jeanne (Ken), grandchildren Melissa, Michael, Tiera, Ian, Joseph, George, Veronica, Shawn, Jamie, Kenny and Tamra, and eleven great grandchildren.
She is further survived by sisters-in-law Dorothy (Jim) Milheiser, Laverne Peerenboom, and brother-in-law Leonard (Helen) Leverance and her companion cat “Come Here.”
She was preceded in death by her siblings Francisco and Jean, one brother-in-law Harold, and one sister-in-law Amy.
In lieu of flowers Doris requested donations be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Albert E. and Doris B. Leverance.
Per her wishes, Doris will be cremated with her ashes placed among the Tennessee Mountains.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on May 18 at New Hope Ministries, 4425 71st Street, Vero Beach.
