Lyle C. Hickinbotham, 89, Vero Beach

Lyle C. Hickinbotham, 89, died May 3, 2010, at the Indian River Medical Center.

He was born in Milwaukee and lived in Vero Beach for 32 years, coming from Appleton, Wis. He was a salesman.

He was a Purple Heart recipient and veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Phyllis M. Hickinbotham of Vero Beach; daughter, Cynthia Hickinbotham of Appleton; son, John Hickinbotham of Cape Coral; brothers, Thomas Hickinbotham, Robert Hickinbotham and James Hickinbotham; sisters, Marion Fischer and Jean Kamps; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Inurnment will be at Appleton Memorial Gardens in Appleton at a later date.
